Quite an interesting title for a blog post, no?
You should be comforted that i won't be talking about any of that here. It was just something to attract your attention (but it could have repelled any of the unfortunate study-phobic ones who came across this post).
Will be off to Bali in a few day's time. Hope it'll be a fun experience. Haven't been there before.
Never figured out if there was an answer to the questions of euthanasia, rehabilitation vs retribution, or even if there should be a death penalty. Probably won't ever find any answers. Those who do have answers, good for you. Don't forget to think about that stand you took though. You may look back, and find the situation ugly enough that you wish you didn't have to stick to the side you chose.
If we live in a room of mirrors, it'd be interesting to see what we would do. Would you like to face the mirrors everyday, to see the decay and ugliness in your reflection? (A little Dorian Gray-ish, I admit, but bear with me) Would you like to shatter the mirrors, and give yourself 7 years of bad luck?
Think about it. Mirrors don't lie, unless they're made to (mirrors that distort one's reflection. Physics students should have a fun time figuring this one out. How light rays reflect from the surface of the mirror, etc) Mirrors don't lie, unless you've been lying to yourself so much that truthful reflections become nicely sugarcoated lies in your eyes. Look into that mirror. Face yourself. If you can bear with yourself, when you bare yourself in front of that smooth, shiny surfact - your beliefs, your dreams, your strengths, your weakneses. If at the end of it all, you can bear with your own reflection, if you can bear with the truth, you may just be able to survive life.
Look at the
Man in the Mirror - James Morrison
Look at him closely. He may just claw your eyes out.
On a lighter note. 'Human' is seriously one of my favourite Killers singles at the moment. Watched the Killers' performance in the recent MTV European Music Awards that was held in Liverpool. Talking about a pretty awesome performance. (it was a wonderful lights show to boot!)
Check it out,
Human - The Killers live, at the MTV EMA 2008
I thought Brandon Flowers' (The Killers' frontman) feathered coat was hideous at first. I must say it doesn't look too bad to me anymore :) It'd be something bizarre to put on in public, but it has its charm. Talking about Flowers being a trendsetter. haha. Or it's just me and my Killers obsession.
"Will your system be alright? When you dream of home tonight,
There is no message we're receiving, let me know is your heart's still beating?"
Sometimes, I think the whole of humankind barely has a pulse anymore. The heart's dead, congealed in a mass of coagulated blood. Iciness and evil working as an effective refrigerator that keeps us all insulated from being human. What's the point of calling ourselves human at all? It just cheapens the word.
